We open new opportunities to help our customers grow their businesses.The Mechanical Engineer is a critical resource in product development or other technical projects. The position is responsible for NPD/NPI activities within a defined schedule, including DFM analysis, tooling design and/or evaluation for casting and pressure forming processes, designing fixturing for CNC and other secondary operations, preparing manufacturing documentation, working with quality and process engineers to develop and improve manufacturing processes, CAD design and drawing development.Responsibilities:1. Under the guidance of more experienced engineers, designs, prototypes, tests and develops components, sub-assemblies, systems, and full products.2. Creates test protocols, runs experiments, and writes test reports.3. Completes product documentation.4. Analyzes complex engineering problems, defines them, and recommends and implements solutions.5. Contributes to projects with respect to timelines, budgets, and customer interactions.Requirements:Skills:1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of industry experience.2. Proficiency with mechanical design tools (SolidWorks, MasterCam preferred), GD&T, FMEA, engineering drawings, and documentation.3. Experience with CNC Programming4. Capable of designing and testing using rapid prototyping techniques, as well as designing for common manufacturing approaches.5. Invents, innovates, and launches products.6. Design for injection molding or casting methods of manufacture.7. Demonstrated CAD component and assembly design experience.8. Analyzes and solves problems.9. Experience with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action procedures.10. Experience with lab testing and fabrication equipment (e.g., calipers, force gauges & test stands w/data acquisition, 3d printers, etc.)11. Experience in interacting with all functions within a business.12. Experience in a regulated industry, e.g. medical or aerospace is a plus.13. Communicates well. Interacts with customers. Effectively presents technical materials to non-technical people.14. Basic Project Management Skills15. Limited knowledge of and works within FDA, MDR, ISO, IEC 60601, and other relevant regulations and standards.16. Basic understanding of medical device manufacturing, especially as it relates to FDA (cGMP) manufacturing requirements.17.
