Responsibilities Develop, implement, and manage a quality control system designed to ensure continuous production of products that meet or exceed our customers' expectations. Ensure that the quality system meets or exceeds the requirements of customers and 3rd party accreditation bodies and are consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide technical support for plant processes Ensure continuous improvement in production process Ensure that product meets or exceeds our customers' expectations Ensure that our Quality System meets or exceeds the requirements of our 3rd party registrars and all external established standards Establish, verify, document, and monitor controlled conditions for manufacturing processes Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality. Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products. Design and implement methods for process validation, control, or improvement. Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports. Develop, execute, and analyze quality-reporting measures. Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to manufacturing for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement. Participate in internal and external quality audits. Address product, process, or Quality Management System non-conformances in area of responsibility or as assigned. Follow-up on and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action Requests. Assist the management team and provide QA support as necessary. Assist in process certification. Report to management on quality issues, trends, and losses. Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams. Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased product. Standardize best practices. Recommends and implements improvements to manufacturing processes, methods, and controls. Performs product/process analysis and implements continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction, scrap reduction, yield improvements and increased overall equipment efficiency. Conducts PFMEAs on manufacturing processes, methods, equipment, and controls Conduct/assist in any First Article Inspections Assist in any RMA's and related customer corrective actions Assists in training all shop floor associates on manufacturing processes and methods Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements: B.S. degree in Material Science or Engineering is desired Minimum 5 years related experience required Understanding of quality and Environmental management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100/ISO14001 environment is required Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred Experience with developing/documenting procedures Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection Working knowledge of statistical techniques and tools Computer proficiency Additional Requirements: Quality orientation and high attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with high performance teams. Problem analysis and problem resolution skills. Solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Must be able to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format Must be able to work well with subordinates, peers, and superiors in all departments of the Company Must be able to work well with external contacts of the Company Must have good time management, planning and negotiation skills Must adhere to all Company policies This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by 22CFR120.15. Responsible for creating, transmitting, storing, and destroying Controlled Unclassified Information/Technology per government regulation and company procedures Must adhere to the Morgan Technology Transfer Control Plan, government regulations, and company procedures. Assist Export Compliance Manager in classifying new products, materials, and processes. Must not export controlled technology to a foreign national without approval from the Export Compliance Manager. Physical Requirements: Must be capable of sitting and using a computer for the majority of an 8-hour workday Must be able to lift 35 pounds Must be capable of traveling within the US and Internationally This job description does not state or imply that all duties to be performed are specifically identified above.
