Job Description

The HR Manager/HR Business Partner is a key member of the HR team, supporting the VP of Operations and Program Management for our Affordability programs. The position serves as a consultant to this management team on human resource-related issues, working closely with the Vice President, Human Resources on strategic initiatives and management updates.

The HR Manager processes, assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and acts as an employee champion and change agent. S/he communicates needs proactively within our HR department and collaborates with business management to develop integrated solutions. S/he will deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives and culture of the organization.

Though we are managing a 100% remote workforce during COVID-19, in the long-term this position will support business leaders in three locations (Fairfield, Whippany & Pittsburgh). This will require regular travel between Whippany and Fairfield, with occasional travel to Pittsburgh.In addition, this position will deal with employees and management within a customer service contact center environment and strong experience in a similar position is required.

Essential Functions

Provides HRBP support by working with respective business leadership on strategic programs, and the various stages of an employee life-cycle (i.e., workforce planning, recruitment, on-boarding, coaching and performance management, employee development/training, compensation programs and off boarding); proactively develops HR solutions that support the business strategies and achievement of company objectives.

Works collaboratively with the HR Team on creating and administering HR programs (performance management, compensation management, recruiting assistance, job description creation, updates to policy, etc.).

Interprets company policies and practices to provide direction and counsel to members of the management team and employees using creative and practical solutions to proactively anticipate, prevent and resolve business issues.

Provides guidance, and may support the development, revision and audit of HR administrative processes such as promotions and employee status changes.

Manages employee data integrity; successfully handles HR Audits

Collaborates with other HR teammates including talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, HR systems, and the HRBP teammates.

Other duties or projects as assigned (i.e., development, implementation, and evaluation of company-wide programs or policies and/or addresses attraction and retention issues).

Knowledge

HR processes that make up the employee life-cycle such as recruitment, on-boarding , coaching, compensation planning, performance management, discipline,  off-boarding.

Labor laws and demonstrated ability to write and interpret company policies.

Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

MS Office, experience with HRIS systems is required.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or business or the equivalent work experience required.

PHR/SPHR certificate preferred.

Experience

7 + years of full cycle HR Generalist experience.

2+ years of experience supporting a contact, customer service or call center environment.

Previous experience in a multi-state/multi-facility business environment.

Experience in a company which participates in a security program like ISO, SOC, or SOC2 desired.

Core Competencies

Travel

Local travel between Whippany and Fairfield offices

Occasional travel to the Pittsburgh PA office.
