Job Description:
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
practical experience. 8 years of experience in an applied research
setting. Experience in a technical role creating studies and
analyzing data using Python, MATLAB, R, or custom software.
Experience utilizing multidisciplinary toolkits. Experience with
product strategy and research roadmaps. Experience working with
product managers, UX designers, and engineering to inform product
direction. Preferred qualifications: PhD degree in Computer Vision,
Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Electronic Engineering, Human Computer Interaction. Experience in
human factors and ergonomics research. Experience using
anthropometry and influencing the design of wearable or other
hardware devices. Experience with CAD tools, such as SolidWorks,
NX, MeshLab, and simulation tools such as Abaques. Experience
working with 3D meshes and using automation tools (such as Python
and trimesh) to process the meshes to generate anthropometric
insights. Understanding of business needs and how to perform
research in contribution to business strategy. About the job As a
Quantitative User Experience Researcher (Quant UXR), you will help
inform your team of UXers, product managers, and engineers about
user needs. You will play a critical role in creating useful,
usable, and delightful products. You will work with stakeholders
across functions and levels and have impact at all stages of
product development. You will investigate user behavior and user
needs using empirical research methods such as logs analysis,
survey research, path modeling, and regression analysis. Quant UXRs
vary in background and use skills from computer science,
quantitative social science, econometrics, data science, survey
research, psychology, human-computer interaction, and other fields.
You will combine skills in behavioral research design, statistical
methods, and general programming to improve user experience. The
Quantitative UXR community at Google will help you do your best
work. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from
UXRs across Google through regular meetups, mentor programs, and
access to internal research tools. In this role, you will drive the
strategy and cross-functional collaboration for Pixel Buds. You
will build a research program and deliver insights that are rooted
in expertise in human anthropometry and computational modeling. You
will act as a key advisor to product leadership, translating
computational and statistical findings to actionable product
directions. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's
various computing software platforms across environments (desktop,
mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and
services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and
hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new
technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster
and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users
around the world. The US base salary range for this full-time
position is $189,000-$274,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary
ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the
range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional
factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant

Responsibilities Create UX research strategy on 3D human modeling
areas of the product, align with cross-functional teams and execute
on the strategy with research results, reports, and
recommendations. Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product
Management, Design, and Engineering) and internal teams (e.g., UXR)
to drive product impact. Design quantitative ergonomic fit and
wearability studies using 2D/3D datasets and deliver high quality
analysis and results to drive product development and strategy.
Drive product impact by delivering solid data-driven results and
clear communications using presentations, written documents, or
direct communications that deliver the best results for the
situation. Be a dependable team member by regularly checking in
with stakeholders and clearly communicating needs, deliverables,
