POSITION DESCRIPTION The Clinical Supervisor provides direct or functional supervision of service delivery, or review, approval and signing treatment plans. The Clinical Supervisor is not required to be physically present at the service site to exercise direction. The Clinical Supervisor possesses and implements basic knowledge and educational background applicable to working with individuals, groups, other disciplines, and community systems within as well as outside the agency. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS A current California License (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Ph.D/Psy.D.) granted by the State Board of Behavioral Health Sciences. Masters Degree from an accredited or state approved graduate school. Minimum of two years post masters experience (five or more years preferred) in a mental health setting, progressive supervisory/administrative experience in the field of behavioral health services, preferably in programs providing the care to at-risk youth. Must have a valid California Driver License and car insurance Must be able to pass all required tests and clearances (Live Scan (DOJ, FBI, Guardian) TB test, etc.) Report suspected neglect or abuse as a Mandated Reporter. Desired Qualifications Five years post masters experience in a mental health setting. Ability to supervise Mental Health interns. Experience working with at-risk, foster, and/or LGBTQ youth in a diverse community. Experience in service delivery to youth in residential settings. Knowledge of and commitment to Trauma Informed Care Principles. Working knowledge of Medi-Cal billing and EMRs. Ability to maintain focus on organizational vision while attending to necessary and appropriate details. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Collaborative work style, initiative, and flexibility. High integrity Team orientated personality. Driving cars and vans; Exposure to uneven concrete and blacktop Exposure to normal dust, heat, and noise Exposure to emotionally disturbed students who may be physically and verbally violent and require safe physical management. Frequent exposure to office equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Maintains knowledge of current evidence-based and best practices relevant to the population served at the STRTP. Participates in the development of a plan for the orientation, development, and training of mental health staff Provides clinical supervision to the Heads of Service and provides clinical consultation/supervision to the entire mental health team. Reviews documentation of supervises all mental health trainees and therapists. Works with the Heads of Services to ensure that all required mental health training is scheduled and completed in line with staff needs and DHCS requirements. Requires on-call responsibility, a high degree of flexibility in responding to emergent needs of youth in crisis. Provide crisis prevention, intervention, and safety planning services as needed while adhering to laws pertaining to confidentiality, reporting requirements, and maintaining necessary compliance documentation. Work collaboratively with the Head of Services, MHRS and other mental health professionals. Complete Needs and Service Plans (NSPs) in a timely fashion and in accordance with CCL and CCR regulations, as well as make necessary updates. May serves as the facilitys designated Head of Service. Provides clinical supervision in a manner that supports clinicians to develop capacity to work in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate manner. Integrates/models trauma-informed care principles in supervision and interactions with clinicians and program leadership attentive to: safety, trustworthiness and transparency; peer support; collaboration and mutuality; empowerment, voice, secondary stress and health/wellness screening and promotion, and choice; and culture, history, gender, and justice. Provides clinical supervision in a responsive manner modeling respectful and attentive to power, values and biases cultural, historical, and gendered differences. Ensure Licensing Compliance Maintains complete and accurate understanding of current STRTP licensing standards, CARF accreditation standards, and all other laws, standards, and regulations applicable to the STRTP. As directed by the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, collect information on an ongoing basis to aid in quality improvement measures to improve policies, practices, and client satisfaction. Communication Ensure that significant clinical information is communicated, in a timely fashion, with all involved team members including school personnel, administration, mental health staff, and STRTP staff. Ensure that the Head of Service and Administration is informed of any critical incidents related to the STRTP. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Support the needs of Head of Services in a culturally and linguistically responsible manner. Proactively support the maintenance of an inclusive and respectful working environment. Other duties as assigned by the CEO may be required as La Cheim continues its development.
