Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Fairfield,
California. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: NICU -
Neonatal Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Duration: 8 weeks - 36
hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel
Local Rate- $70/HR Description: Duties: The Clinical Nurse (RN) has
the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver
safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the
philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing. The
RN, utilizing Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, Relationship Based
Care, and client’s professional nursing practice model assesses,
plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients assigned to
his/her care. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of
the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional
relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to
facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health.
Care is provided according to the specific physiologic,
developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient. Supports the
mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the
organization. The RN shall be considered to be competent when
he/she consistently demonstrates the ability to transfer scientific
knowledge from social, biological and physical sciences in applying
the nursing process, as follows: Provides care that is consistent
with the interdisciplinary plan of care and grounded in the
principles of Relationship Based Care. Assess patient physical and
psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis and formulates a nursing
diagnosis through observation of the client’s physical condition
and behavior, and through interpretation of information obtained
from the client and others, including the health team. Formulates a
care plan in collaboration with the client, which ensures that
direct and indirect nursing care services provide for the client’s
safety, comfort, hygiene and protection and for disease prevention
and restorative measures. Performs skills essential to the kind of
nursing action to be taken, explains the health treatment to the
client and family and teaches the client and family how to care for
the client’s health needs. Evaluates the effectiveness of the care
plan through observation of the client’s physical condition and
behavior, signs and symptoms of illness and reactions to treatment
and through communication with the client and the health team
members, and modifies the plan as needed. Demonstrates a current
working knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation and
medications. Delegates tasks to care team members based on their
legal scopes of practice and on the preparation and capability
needed in the tasks to be delegated, and effectively supervises
nursing care being given by the care team. Acts as the client’s
advocate, as circumstances require by initiating action to improve
health care or to change decision or activities which are against
the interests or wishes of the client, and by giving the client the
opportunity to make informed decisions about health care before it
is provided. Provides culturally competent, age appropriate,
ethical care within legal standards of practice. Acts as a liaison
in coordinating patient care activities with nurses, physician,
allied health professionals, and ancillary care team members.
Skills: Communication: Proficient written, verbal, and electronic
communication skills. Other: Completion of annual organizational
requirements for employment. Utilizes effective communication
skills to facilitate safe patient hand offs Documents nursing care
per hospital policies. Utilizes manual and automated information
systems to improve efficiency and effect productivity. Patient
Satisfaction Accountable to meet or exceed unit and organizational
goals. Contributes to positive patient care experience through
their individual interactions with patients and families.
Accountable to understand the impact of personal behaviors on
patient experience. Accountable to assist in the resolution of
complaints with the goal of immediate resolution if possible.
Investigates physician, employee, and patient complaints and
provides information to the CNIV or Clinical Manager. Performs
other duties as assigned. Education: Experience: Minimum acute care
three years (3) experience required. Graduate from an accredited
school of professional registered nursing. Associate Degree or BSN
accepted. Required: CA RN License, AHA BLS, NRP. ICONMA Job ID

week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be
