Pay Rate Range: $30.00-$34.00/Hr
Identifying patients and their personal information by reviewing
their identity documents.
Assessing patient needs, reviewing patient history, and determining
the reason(s) for drawing blood.
Selecting gauge needles and preparing veins or fingers for blood
Extracting blood from patients through or fingerstick.
Analyzing blood specimens using the correct testing equipment, when
Preparing specimens for transportation, including labeling vials
accurately and matching blood specimens to patients.
Supplying diagnostic notes to physicians, other healthcare
professionals, and hospitals.
Keeping and maintaining records of patient names, volume of blood
drawn, and diagnostic findings.
Cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment used in
the drawing and testing of blood specimens.
Ordering laboratory supplies, as needed.
A Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) certificate or higher
Phlebotomy (CPA) or Laboratory license (MLT/CLS) issued by the
state of California.
Basic medical terminology, typing, math and computer skills.
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in
providing appropriate care for patients in the following age
groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal.
One-year acute care hospital experience preferred.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
