is responsible for performing duties related to the efficient,
safe, and compliant collection of blood and blood products. This
position works collaboratively as a member of the team and in
alignment with the values of the organization. Ensures compliance
with SOP, FDA and AABB standards during blood collection
operations.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs all assigned duties
in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings
compliance issues to the attention of management.Assures quality
customer service to all customers.Maintains good attendance and
punctuality per the absence policy.Maintains awareness and follows
all safety procedures, as outlined by the company.Performs all
duties related to the collection and handling of blood and blood
products (e.g., load, set-up, tear down, advanced eligibility
calculations, and daily quality control). Packs blood products for
temporary storage and transportation to processing
location.Performs donor interviews and appropriately determines
donation eligibility. Performs donor rebooking activities.Performs
whole blood phlebotomy of donors, apheresis red cell, plasma and
platelet collections in accordance with Standard Operating
Procedures.Provides explanation to donors concerning deferrals and
other questions the donor may have regarding eligibility. Consults
with management, as necessary.Performs all aspects of Therapeutic
collections (i.e. Dendreon, Granulocytes) and the administering of
medication associated with the collections.Communicates all
pertinent information effectively and timely. Brings issues to the
attention of those in authority or leadership positions, as
necessary.Works as part of a team to achieve daily team production
goals. Assists and supports other team members, as required.
Participates in required staff meetings and huddles.Maintains and
ensures equipment, vehicles, and facilities are in good working
order. Maintains a clean and organized work area and ensures
records are accurate and complete. Drives the company vehicle, as
neededDemonstrates excellent communication skills in accordance
with current customer service standards to represent a positive
image for the company.Performs all other duties, at the discretion
of management, as
assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge/EducationAssociate s degree
required.Licenses/CertificationsRN license required.Valid in-state
driver s license required.ExperienceSix months previous work
experience in a healthcare related position
preferred.Skills/AbilitiesMust possess the skills and abilities to
successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.Must
be able to maintain confidentiality.Effective oral and written
communication skills.Basic working knowledge of Windows operating
system, keyboard usage, and PC.Must be able to read and comprehend
written procedures and instructions.Must be able to work flexible
shifts, varied schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays as
needed.Must have good customer service and interpersonal
skills.Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an
active team member.Ability to travel, as required.Attention to
detail.Strong organizational skills.Ability to navigate electronic
devices/equipment.Must be trained and knowledgeable in using and
maintaining equipment associated with the collection of whole
blood, automated red cell/plasma and apheresis
