Job Description:

The Big Picture Howden is a global engineering business who focuses on providing clients with industrial products that help multiple sectors improve their everyday processes. The Financial Director is responsible for providing financial leadership to support the leadership team in strategic, operational and budget achievement and to support business development opportunities. The role is also responsible for building a strong business-focused finance team that will provide assistance and guidance to the business management to make sound financial decisions, as well as ensuring a strong control environment with accurate reporting What needs to be done? --- Work with the business to develop the relationships and processes needed to ensure good communication between Finance and all other departments --- Support the drive for collaboration across all Howden local and international business units working as One Howden globally --- Key aspect of the role is to develop the existing processes and controls further and embed them within the Finance team. --- Partners with all central functions such as shared finance, IT and HR to ensure that enabling strategies and tactics are in place and are consistent with broader business strategies and tactics. --- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance to US GAAP and Howden Policies. --- Prepare and present KPIs achieved and review variances with Management Team Monthly focusing on improvement plans for negative variances. --- Ensure internal reporting requirements and deadlines are met whilst confirming the accuracy of information reported in Howden's consolidating system (CRS). --- Review Forecast overhead information based on expected expenditure for the period and work closely with operations to monitor costs and control over expenditure. --- Ensure Stock and Asset control is adhered to, and that all standard documentation and procedures with regard to stock / asset movements and best practices are followed. --- ROIC reviews (as necessary) for proposed capital projects and track ROIC performance of implemented capital projects. --- Review Contracts that have been entered into to confirm all Financial Risks have been mitigated and the necessary bonding requirements, working capital and accounting practices have been reviewed and are in compliance with group policy. --- Understand Warranty Claims and Other Provisions confirming that appropriate accounting treatment has been applied on the project to mitigate project risk. --- Work with the business and Leadership to analyze the current backlog, market trends, and margins to prepare updated changes to the forecast. --- Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations Manager to review capacity demands that may impact product delivery and financial results. --- Protect the financial integrity of the company by enforcing and auditing Howden policies and ensuring Sarbanes Oxley compliance. --- Ensure Howden Business Sarbanes Oxley plan design is operationally compliant; this includes maintaining the required documentation and leading the process owners in self-testing and timely mitigation of any deficiencies. --- Lead all internal and external audits --- Manage a daily cash management process to engage business on timely collections & invoicing --- Manage working capital and cash flow requirements of the business with weekly, monthly and yearly view planning the financing requirements for the periods. What do I need to bring? Essential: --- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance --- A minimum of 5 years in senior finance position --- Working knowledge of ERP financial systems, ideally Microsoft products (AX, Great Plains, D365) --- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software --- Experience in a manufacturing environment; which includes capacity planning and recovery hours. Project accounting experience is preferred Desirable: --- Master's degree (MBA) and / or CPA is preferred What will you get in return?
