Sacred Heart is home to the award-winning, NPR-affiliated radio station, WSHU, a Division I athletics program and an impressive performing arts program that includes choir, band, dance and theatre. The Managing Director of the Performing Arts will establish the goals for each department within the Performing Arts. Working directly with the Artistic Director of the Performing Arts to create the artistic vision and goals for each area. A major component of the Performing Arts is the recruitment of new students and retention of existing students through strong connections in the performing arts cohorts. Major initiative in the area of recruitment is to achieve growing roster goals of students involved in the performing arts program. Responsibilities Include:

  • Directly oversee the Band, Choir, Dance and other programs as established.
  • Develops and manages the Performing Arts budget as well as oversees the management of the Choir, Dance and Band budget.
  • Oversee/supervise implementation and maintenance of performance arts grants in all departments.
  • Pursue Sponsorship/Fundraising opportunities to enhance all areas of the Performing Arts.
  • Maintains effective and efficient operations within the Performing Arts Departments through consistent policies and procedures for grant recipients, travel and office protocol.
  • Oversee all external and internal communication/marketing for the Performing Arts.
  • Responsible for working as the liaison with the Admissions and Financial Aid Department for the recruitment of incoming students.
  • Oversee all retention efforts for the departments within Performing Arts to include one on one meetings, Map works, Performing Art Grants and outreach.
    Requirements:

    • Master's Degree required; at least 5 years prior experience in management/leadership role.
    • Must be a strategic thinker, possessing strong organizational skills, and knowledge in the areas of marketing and fundraising.
    • Excellent communication skills; ability to motivate and inspire team; must be flexible
      Additional Information:
      May require evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.
