specialized training needs. Our SAOC Simulation and Training team
focuses on creating and delivering advanced tactics, flight, and
maintenance training solutions for a specific mission critical to
national security. We seek a Technical Architect to lead design and
development new simulation systems. As the primary engineering
design authority, the architect will design and develop solutions
for the SAOC training system. This role requires deep technical
expertise, strong leadership, effective communication, and the
ability to inspire teams. This position is located onsite at our
Sterling, VA location and may require occasional domestic travel.
What You Will Do: Define system architecture and technical
strategy: Develop high-level designs and system architectures that
meet customer requirements and align with program goals. Lead
technical innovation: Drive technological advancements and
recommend solutions that ensure scalability, reliability, and
performance of the simulation systems. Oversee system integration
and design: Serve as the authority for integrating
multi-disciplinary engineering components, ensuring seamless
technical cohesion. Collaborate with stakeholders: Interface with
customers and internal teams to translate mission needs into
comprehensive technical solutions and system designs. Guide
technical execution: Provide strategic guidance and technical
oversight throughout the product lifecycle, from requirements
development to final delivery in alignment with Project Engineer.
Perform trade studies and analysis: Evaluate design alternatives,
technologies, and methodologies to optimize system performance and
cost-effectiveness. Mentor and inspire engineering teams: Lead by
example, fostering a culture of technical excellence,
collaboration, and innovation. Ensure technical compliance:
Maintain adherence to RTX Lifecycle Management Systems and industry
standards while ensuring the highest quality of deliverables.
Identify and mitigate risks: Proactively assess technical risks and
develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful program
execution. Contribute to business growth: Lead architectural
efforts in bid and proposal processes, articulating innovative
technical solutions to support new business pursuits. Report
program architecture compliance to engineering leadership: Provide
regular updates to Integrated Product Team (IPT) Chief Engineer,
Department Leaders, and the Engineering Director on project status
and performance. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a
degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced
Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience. The
ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security
clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S.
citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 8 years of
experience in technical project management: previous experience
managing engineering projects, preferably in the aerospace or
defense industry. Ownership of technical project execution through
Requirements Development, Design and Development, through Test and
Delivery. Previous work experience in systems, electrical,
mechanical, or test engineering. Previous Leadership experience
leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Previous experience
interfacing with customers, stakeholders, and team members. Ability
to communicate with multiple levels of leadership to empower
decision making. Risk management experience: Ability to identify,
assess, and mitigate technical risks and opportunities.
Qualifications We Prefer: Active and transferable U.S. government
issued security clearance: active or ability to receive a TS level
clearance. Experience with simulation systems: Specific experience
in the development and management of simulation and training
systems. Experience with government contracts: Familiarity with the
requirements and processes associated with US Department of Defense
projects. Proficiency in project management tools: Expertise in
using tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar software
for project tracking and management. Experience with Collins tools
such as ISAT, BMW, and ALM. Experience in leading bid and proposal
efforts: Demonstrated success in securing new business through
effective bid and proposal management. Familiarity with the design
and implementation of training systems and the value they provide
to the end user: Understanding of how training systems are

276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate
