Job Description:
Education/Experience:--- Bachelor's degree in Engineering ---
5-7+ years of Engineering / Maintenance / Facilities leadership
experience in manufacturing plus progressive leadership experience,
including prior leadership and development of high performing
teams--- Demonstrated success in managing multiple cross-functional
projects and improving technician capabilities (through robust
training systems). --- Ability to think strategically and impact
strategic initiatives, understand business drivers and handle
complexity.
QUALIFICATIONS:--- Experience working in a TPM Environment
developing the capability of all people and reducing losses. ---
Experience working in an HPO and /or Self Directed Work Team
environment. --- Experience in Food Processing or Consumer Products
manufacturing with automated, high-speed packaging environments,
leading support teams focusing on managing standardization, change
management, risk reduction, environmental, and facilities. ---
Knowledge of continuous manufacturing methods, related equipment,
and support processes. Directs the support teams providing the
following services - Project Engineering, Process Engineering,
Facilities Maintenance, Electrical Systems & Controls,
Refrigeration, Power Generation, and Environmental Compliance.
Summary:--- Team Management: Manage the activities of Engineering,
Facilities Maintenance, Refrigeration, Electrical, Controls and
Power Systems, Wastewater Operation, and related contractor
resources. Set goals, and priorities, monitor progress and evaluate
the performance of staff to ensure the maximum benefit of the
resources expended. Create an environment of open and healthy
communications to ensure the goals and objectives of the business
are clearly understood, resources are available and support is
present. --- Capital Project Execution: Prepare and manage the
Capital project annual budget. Ensure that projects are planned
properly to provide sufficient funding, review data to ensure that
results are achievable, and obtain necessary approvals (quarterly
Board of Directors presentation). Implement an Advanced Quality
Planning system for capital projects to ensure effective designs
that are highly functional, safe, and financially viable. Closely
monitor projects to ensure they are completed as planned and funds
are utilized properly. On an ongoing basis, initiate design changes
and modifications to further improve machine efficiency, facilitate
packaging design changes and cost reductions, and expand the
capability of existing equipment to handle new products. ---
Strategic Planning: Development of the five-year strategic capital
and site infrastructure plans, ensuring an acceptable return on
investment for replacement of worn or obsolete equipment, expansion
of capacity to meet sales growth, equipment modification or
replacement related to packaging changes or cost reduction, as well
as the development of expanded production capacity for new
products. Coordinate the selection, design, and layout of
processing, and packaging machinery to ensure efficiency,
reliability, optimum space utilization, and adequate production and
supporting facilities capacity. --- Organizational Development:
Develop and execute ongoing skills training for the technical
staff. Continuously engage the engineering, facilities,
maintenance, and operational teams to deliver reliability by
building technician capability, driving continuous improvement, and
reducing waste. Provide specific performance feedback to ensure
skills are fully developed and teamwork is effectively utilized.
--- Process & Program Standardization: Responsible for ensuring
that all engineering and maintenance processes are completely
documented (including Capital start-up plans, SOPs, DOPs, and run
documents), and implementing any changes to these processes.
Accountable for the development and implementation of effective
preventive and predictive maintenance programs, as well as the
utilization of CMMS and MOC systems. --- Risk Management:
Responsible for meeting all regulatory requirements in the areas of
waste disposal, air emissions, and facility permits and codes.
Responsible for timely filing of all regulatory documents to the
appropriate Federal, State, and Local Governmental agencies. Ensure
Process Safety Management (PSM) system is fully compliant with
plant-wide ammonia systems. Coordinate the use of the Emergency
Response Plan with the Safety & Security manager. Responsible for
meeting all regulatory requirements of waste disposal, emissions,
facility permits, and codes. Also, responsible for timely filing
with the appropriate Federal, State, and Local Gov't agencies. ---
Budget Management: Responsible for developing the facilities,
maintenance, and capital budgets to align with corporate strategies
and plans, while working closely with the leadership team members.
Manage departmental expense budgets with appropriate accounting
information and support. Participate in the business planning and
budgeting process. Develop short and long-term cost
containment/reduction strategies. Manage operating budget for
Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance.
