Alameda Special Education Program Administrator is a highly
qualified individual with a deep knowledge of special education
compliance and practices who will lead the Special Education
Department and work collaboratively with students, staff, and
families. Duties include but are not limited to: Ensure continuous
improvement and coordinate special education services and
compliance for all special education services including students
IEPs in collaboration with the Principal Serve as initial contact
and apply judgment when problem solving issues related to IEP
implementation, placement, services, transition or other
IEP-related services in collaboration with case managers
Collaborate with all deans to support school teams in their
understanding of learning and behavior disabilities and their
manifestations in the classroom Supervise and train case managers,
instructional aides, and other special education staff as needed in
coordination with school leadership Provide ongoing coaching and
ensure regular trainings occur for special education staff Oversee
special education compliance with support from SELPA Review
caseloads with school leadership on a regular basis to ensure
consistency, compliance, and maximization of resources Support case
managers with the development and implementation of behavior plans
and student schedules Serve as an administrator at IEP meetings
Plan and lead Special Education department meetings Participate in
Intervention Team meetings for both Elementary and Middle School
Collaborate closely with ERMHs provider and school psychologist on
assessment and ongoing supports for students Collaborate closely
with the Sonoma County Charter SELPA to design and implement a
high-quality program by receiving training, seeking advice,
documenting finances, and participating fully in the SELPAs
meetings, activities, and committees Desired Qualifications: Valid
California Education Specialist credential Bachelors Degree
required Masters in Special Education or related area preferred
Minimum 5 years Special Education experience Knowledge of and
involvement in special education compliance, discipline laws, and
procedures Knowledge of current tools and techniques utilized
throughout the state to assess and monitor student performance.
Experience with SEIS
